New Challenge Blog!

My friend, Grace, from the Scrapbook Bitch found another challenge for us to enter this week. Super excited because this one is from My Creative Sketches. They give you a layout sketch and you have complete control over the colors and embellishments. So, the complete opposite of the Color Me Scrappy entries we've been doing.

Here's this month's layout:

Here's my version. I had a blast completing it. I hope you guys enjoy it, too!

Challenge 6

So glad I didn't wait until the last minute to post this particular entry for Color Me Scrappy. My friend Grace over at The Scrapbook Bitch reminded me I needed to work on this challenge today while we were at Archivers.

My first thought when I saw this week's color palette was that basically that I didn't think I'd be able to find a picture to go with these particular colors. They were all just so bold that it was almost a little intimidating. Scrapping for me has always been about finding a unique way to display a picture or several pictures. I felt that these particular colors were just too overwhelming for my style. Don't get me wrong, these colors are beautiful! Just a little more intense than I usually work with.

But I plunged in head first and just started playing around with the colors. I made it work for me! I did work with a sketch that I had found in my Scrapbook Etc... magazine, though I did modify it slightly. Working with a sketch this time made it easier for me to concentrate on the colors rather than the layout. I'm very happy with my results today. I hope you enjoy it too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge 5

Ooops! Here I go again, waiting until the LAST minute to post my submission for Color Me Scrappy. And I did so well last month and had my submission posted like 5 days after the color palette was posted. Oh well, I'll try to be more on top of it next time around!

Great color selection again. This time the colors were very brown and neutral. Now, some may think this particular combo may be boring to work with; but for me it was an ideal color combo! I had just printed off pictures from my Trash The Dress photo session from last November so the neutral tones were perfect!

I focused mostly on the browns and kept the grays to a minimum due to wanting to carry over the fall colors from the photos to the layout. This particular layout was my own interpretation of a layout I had seen around Archiver's. Usually when I seek inspiration from someone else's layout I end up tweaking things here and there to make the layout my own. As always, I had a lot of fun working on this one. I think I'm getting more confident in my layout progress as this one only took me a couple of hours instead of several! I hope you enjoy it :o)

Thanks for taking the time to check out my page!
